Abstract
" (Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)
"The article examines the relationship between general education and vocational training less against the background of the neo-humanist debate, but rather focuses on the educational policy dimension of the pair of terms (equivalence, democratisation) with a vocational pedagogical accentuation and brings it together with the labour market and employment policy discourse as it has been conducted in the BRD since the 1970s (key qualifications and competences). In contrast, European and international attempts to define vocational education and training (e.g. as a VET) are rather characterized by the effort to approach the problem from a pragmatic-descriptive perspective."
