Abstract
" (Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)
"International trends leading to the convergence of vocational education and training (VET) on the one hand and general and university education on the other can be observed in various education systems. Four different trends of rapprochement between VET, general and higher education are presented: (1) upgrading higher vocational training, (2) hybrid qualifications to combine vocational training with university entrance qualifications, (3) hybrid qualifications for linking VET and higher education qualifications and (4) qualification frameworks, modularization and credit point systems. These trends are described using examples from different countries as well as explained theoretically." (authors' abstract; BIBB-Doku)
