Abstract

„This article examines the reorganization of the IT Continuing Education System (IT-WBS) in Germany. Since its introduction in 2002, the IT-WBS has not met expectations, leading to a comprehensive overhaul. Based on preliminary studies and changed framework conditions, the training profiles and structures were modernized. The new system promotes permeability between training levels and offers specialized profiles in various IT domains. The goal is to increase the attractiveness and effectiveness of the IT-WBS, addressing the skills shortage and providing IT professionals with attractive career paths oriented to business needs. The article discusses the challenges and results of the reorganization.“ (authors‘ abstract; BIBB-Doku)
