Regionalentwicklung durch strukturelle Verbindung von allgemeiner und beruflicher Bildung – ein Einblick in das Modellprojekt AbiturPLUS

Abstract

„Der konstatierte Fachkräftemangel ist von regionalen und berufsgruppenbezogenen Disparitäten geprägt. Insbesondere ländliche Bereiche sowie natur- und technikwissenschaftliche Berufsgruppen sind von dem Mangelzustand betroffen. Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, inwiefern regionale berufsorientierende Bildungsangebote für gymnasiale Schüler*innen wirksame bildungs- und wirtschaftspolitische Fördermaßnahmen darstellen können. Die quantitativen und qualitativen Ergebnisse des Beitrags liefern Hinweise, dass sich das hier vorgestellte regionale Bildungsprojekt als berufsorientierende Maßnahme eignet. Während der Teilnahme an dem Modellprojekt erwerben Schüler*innen nicht nur berufliche Kompetenzen, auch das akademische Selbstkonzept sowie Interessen im MINT-Bereich werden gestärkt und die Berufswahlentscheidung beeinflusst. Eine potenzielle regionale Bindungswirkung auf die Schüler*innen durch die Teilnahme am regionalen Modellprojekt lässt sich ebenfalls ableiten. Die Befunde bestärken die Notwendigkeit einer demografiesensiblen Bildungspolitik. Gleichzeitig legen geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede die Schlussfolgerungen nahe, dass berufsorientierende Maßnahmen geschlechtersensible Konzepte erfordern.“ (Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)„Skills shortage is characterized by regional and profession-related disparities. Rural areas and professional groups in the natural and technical sciences are particularly affected by the state of deficiency. This article examines the question to what extent regional career-orienting educational programs for high school students offer effective support strategies for educational and economic policy. The quantitative and qualitative results of the paper provide evidence that the regional educational project presented here is suitable as a career-orienting intervention. Students not only acquire vocational competencies while participating in the project, but they also strengthen their academic self-concept and interests in STEM. Furthermore, their career choice decision is influenced. A potential regional bonding effect on the students through participation in the project can also be derived. The findings reinforce the need for an educational policy which is sensitive to demographic changes.
