Abstract
(Autorenreferat, BIBB-Doku)
"Modern VET aims at competences. However, despite major advances modeling and measuring them has proved to be difficult. Especially in VET, competences cannot be related, at least not directly, to 'subject matters', which entails further difficulties. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that competencies cannot be satisfactorily explicated up to now. Research-based competence models that may take us further are discussed, and also the results they yield with respect to attained competence levels among apprentices (as compared to regular examinations). The paper ends with suggestions for the domain-related didactic explication of structures and levels of competences and calls for a closer analysis of the processes of knowledge acquisition ant the development of competences." (Authors' abstract, BIBB-Doku)
