Abstract

(Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)
“Previous research on adult education has rarely addressed how disclosure requirements impact corporate training and its representation in sustainability reports. One reason for this is, that a legal obligation to prepare a non-financial statement has only existed in Germany since the 2017 financial year, initially affecting a relatively small group of entities. Furthermore, there has been no requirement to use a standardized reporting framework so far. With the implementation of the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in 2023 and the mandatory application of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), this situation is likely to change. Accordingly, this paper explores (1) what information on "corporate training" must be included in corporate reporting, and (2) how companies are applying these reporting standards. With outcomes of a document analysis, the paper provides insights and discusses how sustainability reporting regulations could influence research and practice in corporate training.” (authors’ abstract; BIBB-Doku)
