Schools and quality : an international report

Abstract

"This report sets out to clarify the complex, sometimes controversial aim that is now the inspiration of policies for schools in so many countries - raising quality. It analyses the concept of quality and the reasons for its emergence as the contemporary educational priority; it examines the policy areas that are critical in the quest for improvement that include the curriculum, school organisation, resources and facilities, evaluation of pupils, teachers and systems." (author's abstract) ((en)) Der Bericht zum Verhältnis von Schule und Qualität geht auf eine Empfehlung der Bildungsministerkonferenz der OECD- Mitgliedstaaten (Paris, 1984) zurück. Im ersten Teil wird auf das Konzept der Qualität und seine Anwendung bei Bildungs- und Schulreformen eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil werden Schlüsselbereiche und konkrete Probleme analysiert, die für das Streben nach Qualität in Schulen und Schulsystemen eine Rolle spielen (Curricula, Lehrerrolle, Schulorganisation, Bewertung, Ressourcen).
