Akademisierung von Bildung und Beruf als Verdrängungsprozess? : Qualifikationsstrukturverschiebungen in pädagogischen und pflegerischen Berufen

Abstract

"Im Rahmen eines Promotionsprojekts wurden auf Basis des Sozio-ökonomischen Panels (SOEP) quantitative Trendanalysen zu den Qualifikationsstrukturen in Sozial-, Erziehungs- und Pflegeberufen durchgeführt. Im Beitrag wird aufgezeigt, wie sich die beruflichen Bildungsabschlüsse in der Sozialarbeit/-pädagogik, Pflege und Erziehertätigkeit zwischen 1993 und 2011 entwickelt haben und sich für einzelne Statusgruppen ausgestalten. Es wird diskutiert, ob und inwiefern sich in den empirischen Befunden Prozesse qualifikationsbezogener Schließung und Verdrängung widerspiegeln. Zunächst erfolgt eine Beschreibung von Professionalisierungsprozessen und der bildungsstrukturellen Rahmenbedingungen pädagogischer und pflegerischer Tätigkeiten. Es wird vor allem die Annahme einer Verdrängung beruflich qualifizierter Fachkräfte auf niedrigere Berufspositionen zugunsten von Akademiker/innen reflektiert (1). Anschließend werden die empirischen Ergebnisse in Sozial-, Erziehungs- und Pflegeberufen dargestellt und im Kontext der theoretischen Annahme diskutiert. Insbesondere wird zur Überprüfung der Verdrängungsthese die Entwicklung der beruflichen Bildungsabschlüsse auf den verschiedenen Berufspositionen nachgezeichnet (2). "As part of PhD project quantitative trend analyses of the qualifications structures in social service occupations were carried out with the data from the German Socio-Economic Panel Study (SOEP). The article demonstrates how the educational qualifications have developed between 1993 and 2011 overall and for the different status groups in the sample. It will be discussed if and how process of qualification-related closure and displacement reflect in the empirical findings. First the theory of professionalization and the educational structure framework in social service occupations as well as the assumption of displacement of vocationally qualified employees into lower status position in favour of academics will be described and reflected (1). This is followed by the presentations and theoretical discussion of the empirical results of the qualification structure development in the sample of social service occupations, which were conducted with the SOEP. To examine the assumption of displacement the development of the educational degrees on the different status positions will be analysed and presented (2).
