Abstract
„The precarious staffing situation at vocational schools is one of the most pressing problems in current education policy. Universities are therefore faced with the challenge of winning students why the focus is shifting to university marketing. There is a potential to target prospective students who have not yet considered vocational teaching as a career choice by focusing communication more specifically on their needs. The article used data from the LBS-Monitor to analyze the advisory and information behavior of vocational teacher training students. The results show that they make intensive use of information. Personal contact with vocational teachers and other students playing a central role. Although the internet is used frequently, the quality of the information is not always rated as particularly high. The heterogeneity of students influences information behavior. Differences are evident between students in first degree programs and those in postgraduate study models, whose specific information needs must be taken into account in the offerings.“ (authors‘ abstract; BIBB-Doku)
