Abstract
(Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)
"School leavers eligible to enroll at a university after compulsory schooling do have several options for planning their educational and occupational pathway. Two main options refer to taking up studies at university or to starting an apprenticeship. Many of these young people face the challenge to take a decision at a time when they don't have any experiences related to either of these options. This paper provides an overview on some offers designed to support their decision-making process. In particular, it focuses on an innovative "model of study-integrated apprenticeship". As a key component of this model, a coaching process should provide the necessary support for the youth to take an experience-based decision on the next stages in their education and occupation biography. The paper describes the coaching model as a reference for a Design-Based Research process which connects practical implementation of the model to systematic research process."
