Abstract
"Aktuelle Studien (Shell 2015; Schnitzler & Granato 2016; Struck 2017) verdeutlichen einen Trend zu gestiegenen Bildungsaspirationen, zugleich bleiben als Folge dieser Entwicklung Ausbildungsplätze unbesetzt. Auf der Grundlage eines qualitativ erhobenen Längsschnittdatensatzes mit 174 Schüler:innen zu jeweils vier Erhebungszeitpunkten (Follow-up erfolgte sechs Monate nach Ausbildungsbeginn) wird das Phänomen gestiegener Bildungsaspirationen anhand der Motive Jugendlicher für ihren weiterführenden Schulbesuch erklärt. Darauf aufbauend werden die Konsequenzen für gewerblich-technische Ausbildungsberufe diskutiert und Lösungsvorschläge für die Praxis präsentiert. Um berufliche Ausbildungen (besonders in gewerblich-technischen Berufen) attraktiver zu gestalten, sind neue Formen der Beteiligung Jugendlicher an betrieblichen Lernprozessen zu entwickeln (wie Peer-Ansätze) und der Stellenwert von Weiterbildung kritisch-reflektiert zu optimieren." "Recent studies (Shell 2015, Schnitzler & Granato 2016, Struck 2017) indicate a trend towards increased educational aspirations, at the same time vocational education and training places remain vacant as a result of this development. On the basis of a qualitative longitudinal data set of 174 pupils, with four surveys (follow-up took place six months after the start of the apprenticeship), the phenomenon of increased educational aspirations is explained on the basis of young people's motives for attending secondary schools. Building on this, the consequences for technical apprenticeship will discussed and proposals for practical solutions will presented. In order to make vocational training (particularly in industrial and technical occupations) more attractive, new forms of participation by young people in in-company learning processes must be developed (such as peer involvements) and the importance of further education critically-reflectively optimized."
