Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit - Chancen und Risiken

Abstract

"Die Themen der Berichterstattung und der politischen Diskussionen wie auch die Demonstrationen der "Fridays For Future"-Bewegung machen deutlich: Wir befinden uns am Anfang eines durchgreifenden globalen Transformationsprozesses. Die zwei Begriffe Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit markieren ein Spannungsfeld. Mit der zunehmenden Digitalisierung aller Lebensbereiche einerseits und der Auseinandersetzung mit Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel andererseits sind sowohl Chancen für eine sozial- und umweltvertragliche Zukunftsentwicklung als auch große Probleme etwa des Arbeitsplatzrückgangs oder der Zerstörung unserer Lebensgrundlagen verbunden, wenn dieser Transformationsprozess nicht bewusst gestaltet wird. Dies ist nicht nur eine Aufgabe der Politik und der Eliten, sondern bedarf der Mitwirkung aller Bürger, neben deren politischem Engagement auch durch ihre Berufsarbeit. Der Berufsbildung kommt dabei die Aufgabe zu, Mitwirkungsmöglichkeiten durch die Berufsarbeit aufzuzeigen, die dafür notwendigen Kompetenzen zu fordern und die Zusammenhänge von individuellem und kollektivem Handeln mit Blick auf lokale, regionale, nationale und globale Entwicklungen zu verdeutlichen, einschließlich der damit einhergehenden Widersprüche und Entscheidungsdilemmata. Nachfolgend werden, von einer kritischen Betrachtung der aktuellen Diskussion ausgehend, die Chancen und Risiken der Digitalisierung im Zusammenhang mit der Ressourcenproblematik und der Energiewende beleuchtet, um daran anknüpfend Ansatzpunkte für eine Berufsbildung vorzustellen, die eine Ausbildung für die "Fridays For Future"-Generation attraktiver machen konnten." The two terms digitalization and sustainability mark a field of tension. With the increasing digitalization of all areas of life on the one hand and the debate about measures to combat climate change on the other hand, there are opportunities for socially and environmentally compatible future development as well as major problems such as a loss of jobs or the destruction of our livelihoods if this transformation process is not consciously designed. This is not only a task of the politics of the elites, but also requires the participation of all citizens, in addition to their political commitment, also through their professional work. Vocational education has the task of demonstrating opportunities for participation through professional work, promoting the necessary skills and clarifying the connections between individual and collective action with a view to local, regional, national and global developments, including the associated contradictions and decision dilemmas. Starting from a critical view of the current discussion, the chances and risks of digitization in connection with the resource problem and the energy transition are examined in order to present approaches to Vocational Education that could make training more attractive for the "Fridays For Future"-generation."
