Abstract

"Based on a social-constructivistic understanding of education and leaming, the education and training programs in geriatric nursing schools aim at a specific way of competence development which represents itself as a communicative process founded on a mutual alliance between nurse and dient. This learning process calls for self.reflective and transformative form of learning which is usually opposed by restrictive working conditions in practical situations. Therefore, organisations and institutions should critically reflect on their previous concepts of education and nursing in order to adapt to the upcoming changes, requirements and Standards." "Ausgehend von einem sozialkonstruktivistisch orientierten Verständnis von Bildung und Lernen wird für die Altenpflegeausbildung eine spezifische Kompetenzentwicklung angestrebt, welche sich als ein kommunikativer Prozess auf Basis eines Arbeitsbündnisses zwischen Pflegeperson und KlientIn darstellt. Dieser Lernprozess erfordert selbstreflexives sowie transformatives Lernen. Diesem Lernverständnis stehen in Praxisinstitutionen häufig restriktive Arbeitsbedingungen entgegen. Organisationen und Institutionen sollten deshalb ihr (bisheriges) Bildungs- und Pflegeverständnis an die veränderten Anforderungen anpassen und sich dadurch selbst stetig mitentwickeln."
