Abstract
(Autorenreferat, BIBB-Doku)
"The present study, which was conducted as part of the BMBF-BIBB research initiative 'Qualifications and Competences for the Digitized Work of Tomorrow', uses the example of the road construction profession to investigate the changes in the civil engineering sector and their effects on content and structural design of the training occupations. Building Information Modeling, the digitization of planing and building on the basis of multi-dimensional computer modeling, digital time tracking and scheduling, and the use of digital devices and machines are just a few key points in how digitization is changing the construction industry. The challenges of digitization, as the results show, are being accepted by companies. In civil engineering, where road builders are employed, first steps towards a digital transformation of the industry can be seen. As a conclusion, research desiderata and recommendations for action regarding vocational training in road construction are given." (Authors' abstract, BIBB-Doku)
