Abstract

"This article presents the latest estimates/projections to the year 2000-01 of the numbers of young people leaving school in Great Britain, distinguishing those available to enter the labour market. The figures show a steady fall after 1982-83, with the annual total expected to be about a third lower by 1993-94. Future numbers of leavers available to enter the labour market are at lower levels than previously projected." (author's abstract) ((en)) Der Artikel stellt die jüngsten Schätzungen und Projektionen zur Zahl der Schulabgänger in Grossbritannien und dem Anteil derjenigen dar, die ins Erwerbsleben eintreten. Dieser Anteil dürfte in Zukunft entgegen früheren Projektionen sinken, der Verbleib im Bildungssystem wird sich ausweiten. (IAB)
