Ausbildungsmarktregionen in Deutschland : Modellierung funktionaler Ausbildungsräume auf Basis der Mobilität von Auszubildenden

Abstract

"Der Ausbildungsmarkt ist stark regional geprägt: Ausbildungsinteressierte Jugendliche und Betriebe mit freien Ausbildungsstellen suchen vorwiegend in einem begrenzten Radius. Mit diesem BIBB Report wird eine neue regionale Raumgliederung vorgestellt, die das Ausbildungsmarktgeschehen abbildet. Die Datengrundlage bilden die in der Berufsbildungsstatistik erfassten Daten zum Ort der Ausbildungsstätte und zum Wohnort der dualen Auszubildenden. Methodisch orientiert sich die Untersuchung am Vorgehen der etablierten Modellierung von Arbeitsmarktregionen des Instituts für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (IAB) mit einem graphen-theoretischen Verfahren und anschließender Gütebewertung. Das Ergebnis sind 52 Ausbildungsmarktregionen mit hohem Selbstversorgungsgrad. Sie stellen eine räumliche Gliederung dar, die vor allem für Analysen des dualen Ausbildungsmarktgeschehens einen Mehrwert gegenüber bestehen den Raumgliederungen liefert." This BIBB Report presents a new spatial delineation designed to capture apprenticeship market dynamics. The empirical basis is provided by data recorded in the vocational education and training statistics on the location of the training establishment and the place of residence of apprentices in the dual vocational training system. Methodologically, the study follows the established approach to modelling labour market regions developed by the Institute for Employment Research, combining a graph-theoretical procedure with a subsequent quality assessment. The result is a set of 52 apprenticeship market regions characterised by a high degree of self-containment. This spatial classification offers added analytical value – particularly for analysing developments in the dual apprenticeship market – compared with existing regional classifications."
