Über das Verhältnis von Wissen und Handeln in der beruflichen Arbeit und Ausbildung

Abstract

"Der Kompetenzbegriff ist ein hypothetisches Konstrukt, dessen theoretische Grundlagen keineswegs vollständig geklärt sind, insbesondere nicht das Verhältnis von Wissen und Handeln. Es wird vorgeschlagen, eine dialektische Relation zwischen Wissen und Können anzunehmen, bei der Wissen in das könnerhafte Handeln integriert wird. Eine Modellvorstellung für diesen Integrationsprozess bietet die Unterscheidung zwischen Hintergrundbewusstsein und Fokalbewusstsein nach Neuweg (in Anlehnung an Polanyi). Danach wird Kompetenz nicht besessen, sondern erst im Handlungsverlauf hergestellt - durch die Integration von Wissen auf das Handlungsziel hin." (Autorenreferat, BIBB-Doku)

„The concept of competence is a hypothetical construct whose theoretical foundations are anything but completely clarified, particulary not the relationship between knowledge and acting. It is proposed to assume a dialectical relation between knowledge and skills: knowledge can be integrated into skillful acting, whereby knowledge and acting enrich each other without being completely absorbed or mutually determinating each other. An exemplary model for this process of integration is offered by differentiating between background awareness and focal awareness, proposed by Neuweg referring to Polanyi. This model leads to the conclusion that we do not simply own competencies in terms of skills, but rather create them during the process of action – by integrating knowledge in direction to the aim of action.“ (author’s abstract; BIBB-Doku)
