dc.description.abstractDer vorliegende Band versammelt die Ergebnisse der CEDEFOP-Konferenz "Individual learning accounts: an incentive for financing continuing vocational education and training", die im Januar 2008 in Thessaloniki stattfand. Die 21 Teilnehmer (Praktiker, Forscher und politische Entscheidungsträger aus Europa, Kanada und den USA) diskutierten, welchen Beitrag individuelle Lernkonten (individual learning account - ILA) zur Erreichung der im Kopenhagen-Prozess vereinbarten Ziele leisten könnten. Individuelle Lernkonten stellen Einzelpersonen Geld für eine Ausbildung oder Weiterbildung zur Verfügung. In einigen EU-Mitgliedstaaten (Belgien, Irland, Italien, Niederlande, Österreich, Spanien, Vereinigtes Königreich) sowie in Kanada, den Vereinigten Staaten und der Schweiz liefen oder laufen derzeit Lernkonten-Programme. Unabhängig von ihrer Art sind diese Programme Teil eines neueren Trends weg von der Bereitstellung von Finanzmitteln an Ausbildungsanbieter hin zu einer eher nachfragebezogenen Finanzierung der Lernenden, die selbst entscheiden, welche Aus- bzw. Weiterbildung sie absolvieren möchten. (BIBB-Doku)
