Abstract
(Autorenreferat ; BIBB-Doku)
"The article provides an overview of the possibilities of using female role models for career education and learning in information technology. In the beginning, the first chapter describes the current situation of the percentage of women in university education and information technology. The second and third chapter utilizes theoretical classification of communication science and media research to describe the effectiveness of (media) role models, especiallyusing the psychological learning theory of Albert Bandura. The fourth chapter shows how real role models are presented by STEM programs. This is followed by the next chapter, which focuses on online STEM projects with role models. The sixth chapter focuses on the multimedial representation of role models on the internet. One example ist he Digital Me project by the University of Münster. This three-year research project created a virtual world, IT for girls, which uses real role modelst o show oppertunities for study and career orientation in information technology on the internet. Finally the seven chapter introduces basic research approaches about the effect of online female role models on girls‘ career development." (Author's abstract ; BIBB-Doku)
