Erwachsenenbildung aus der Perspektive des Lebenslaufs (Themenheft)

Abstract

"Während der Lebenslauf die Gesamtheit aller objektivierbaren Ereignisse zwischen Geburt und Tod umfasst, beschreibt die Biografie die individuelle Deutung und sinnhafte Organisation dieser Erfahrungen. Lebensereignisse stellen zentrale Lernanlässe dar, womit über die gesamte Lebensdauer von Menschen der Erwachsenenbildung eine zentrale Rolle zu Teil wird. Denn sie ist im gesamten Bildungssystem der quantitativ größte und ausdifferenzierteste Bildungsbereich. Der Life Course Approach (auch Lebenslaufansatz oder Lebenslaufperspektive) ist in diesem Zusammenhang zentral. Er markiert den Paradigmenwechsel hin zu einer lebenslangen Entwicklungs- und Sozialisationsperspektive. Bildung wird aus dieser Perspektive als komplexer Prozess über die gesamte Lebensspanne verstanden, der unter dem Einfluss historischer, kultureller und sozio-ökonomischer Faktoren steht und zudem durch soziale Ungleichheiten beeinflusst wird. Diese Ausgabe nimmt den gesamten Bereich der Weiterbildung ebenso wie einzelne erwachsenenpädagogische Aspekte im Zusammenhang mit dem Life Course Approach in den Blick. Dazu gehören bspw. Faktoren, die Weiterbildungsmotivation fördern oder hemmen, oder die Methode der Biografiearbeit, die zu reflexiven Prozessen in der Erwachsenenbildung beitragen kann. Kritische Lebensereignisse (wie bspw. eine Inhaftierung) können ebenso wie Übergänge im Leben Lernanlässe darstellen. Vor diesem Hintergrund setzt sich ein Teil der Beiträge mit Lern- und Bildungsprozessen in solchen Kontexten auseinander.“ (Hrsg.; BIBB-Doku)

„While the life course encompasses the entirety of all objectifiable events from birth and death, a biography describes the individual interpretation and meaningful organisation of these experiences. Life events are key learning opportunities, and thus adult education plays a central role throughout a person‘s lifetime. For in the entire educational system, it is the quantitatively largest and most nuanced field of education. The life course approach is central in this context, marking the paradigm shift to a lifelong perspective on development and socialisation. From this angle, education is understood to be a complex process occurring over the entire lifespan that is influenced by historic, cultural and socio-economic factors as well as social inequalities. This issue takes a look at the entire field of continuing education as well as individual aspects of adult education associated with the life course approach. These include factors that motivate or discourage the pursuit of continuing education or the method of biography work, which can contribute to reflective processes in adult education. Critical life events (for example, imprisonment) as well as life transitions may also represent opportunities for learning.
