Abstract
"Industrial metal workers are increasingly confronted with the demands of sustainable development and the related approaches of corporate social responsibility (CSR). This is accompanied by a gradual "greening of the occupations" which affects the whole working world and the associated occupational structures. In addition to sustainable work tasks, skilled workers also create digital systems (Industry 4.0) which seems to contrast with sustainable development. This paper is dedicated to a multidimensional analysis with the sustainable acting of industrial workers (industrial mechanics) and exemplifies on the basis of empirical case studies how skilled workers synergize approaches of digitization and sustainable production in order to improve the sustainability of companies."
