This is highly welcome given the shortage of skilled nursing staff in Germany, but applicants seeking to negotiate the recognition procedure face a long route. This article clarifies the legal foundations underlying the process, looks at which challenges are being produced by the new Nursing Professions Act and presents possible ways towards a solution."
