| dc.description.abstract | eLearning birgt das Potential, die allgemeine und berufliche Bildung radikal zu verändern, neue Wege bei der Vermittlung von Wissen zu eröffnen und die Fähigkeit des Einzelnen, sich neue Kompetenzen anzueignen, zu verbessern. In Verbindung mit dem eLearning haben sich neue Märkte für Lehr- und Lernmittel und einschlägiges Equipment (Hardware) herausgebildet. Dennoch mangelt es an quantitativen Informationen zur Nutzung und zum Wachstum von eLearning. Das Europäische Zentrum für die Förderung der Berufsbildung (CEDEFOP) hat 2001 eine Online- Umfrage auf der Website des Europäischen Berufsbildungsdorfes (www.trainingvillage.gr) zum Thema eLearning durchgeführt. Sie erfasst eine Reihe von Einrichtungen unterschiedlicher Art und Grösse aus dem Ausbildungsbereich in allen EU-Mitgliedstaaten und lässt Rückschlüsse zur Entwicklung des eLearning in der EU und zu den Unterschieden zwischen den Mitgliedstaaten zu.
