dc.description.abstract„Digital transformation is fundamentally changing job profiles and fields of activity in the automotive industry. In particular, the skill requirements of industrial and technical employees are undergoing disruptive adjustments that address operational needs while also incorporating trends and innovations in the sector. Against this backdrop, this article examines which specific skill requirements arise during the transformation and what implications can be derived for the design of vocational education and training. Building on existing concepts of competence management (e.g., KompetenzAtlas, DigiComp 2.2), the interpretations of the actors involved are systematized and their relevance for operational practice is discussed. The empirical basis is a qualitative analysis of expert interviews with process and human resources managers in the automotive industry. Tensions between process-related and personnel-related perspectives become particularly visible. The results contribute to the actor-specific analysis of qualification-related innovation processes, identify potential for optimization, and provide impetus for the development of tailor-made qualification programs. In addition, they open starting points for educational policy support and for transfer to other industries.” (authors’ abstract; BIBB-Doku)de
