Abstract
(Autorenreferat, BIBB-Doku)
"The aim of this study is to examine the influence of media on the vocational knowledge of young people. The article discusses the relationship of media usage and vocational/ occupational aspirations and whether the relationship between the two constructs is causal. A database of a longitudinal study of over 3.500 school kids are used to test this notion. The results indicate a significant effect of media usage on occupational wishes. Also school form effects can be shown. Based on the results, possible educational consequences in the field of school to work transition where discussed." (author's abstract, BIBB-Doku)
