| dc.description.abstract | „Studierende begegnen zu Beginn des Studiums u. a. der Anforderung sich allgemeine Studien- sowie spezifische Fachpraktiken anzueignen (i. S. v. Enkulturation) (vgl. Jenert/Scharlau 2022, 163f.).
| dc.description.abstract | „At the beginning of their studies, students are required to acquire general study and disciplinary practices (i. e. enculturation) (cf. Jenert and Scharlau 2022, 163f.). However, these are in many cases implicit - they are often characterised by traditions and are, thus, taken for granted by members of a discipline. Students, on the other hand, enter a discipline as novices and are not necessarily able to recognise or understand these implicit practices. In such moments, students may not realise why they are confused or are having difficulties. At the same time, teachers are not aware that certain things may need to be explained differently or in more detail. These are situations in which Culture Fellows act as mediators: they support students in understanding and reflecting on such moments of irritation, and they report these moments of irritation back to lecturers. Students and lecturers can thus be sensitised to disciplinary practices and associated moments of irritation. Moments of irritation and disciplinary practices differ from discipline to discipline. In the same way, the possible applications of student Culture Fellows also differ. Whether they are used in a module, lecture or practical training depends on the disciplinary structures and requirements. This article provides a general overview of the training programme that Culture Fellows undergo and gives more detailed insights into two discipline-specific placement options.“ (authors‘ abstract; BIBB-Doku) | de |
