Abstract
(Autorenreferat; BIBB-Doku)
"This paper defines regions as professionally designed learning spaces of adult education. It examines professional adult education practices of program planners in provider organizations. Based on a case study, the author uses the action-centered- geography to develop an empirical approach, which focuses on implicit interpretations of social space within professional practice, on the one hand, and, on consequences of professional action for social space, on the other hand. On a broader scale, the paper elaborates on the diverse perspectives within the academic discourse about adult education and region. Social space theory contributes powerfully to discuss these perspectives." (author's abstract; BIBB-Doku)
